Our class B van camper came with a very small built in fridge and so the freezer compartment is tiny, I removed the freezer box from it so that the entire built in fridge becomes a refrigerator only - holds more and performs better that way.
So when in the van I use the BougeRV unit strictly as a freezer - lots of room for frozen food and all the ice cubes I could want. This conbination has worked out very well for us.

Very good camping fridge. I like the cooling aggregate which is variable speed. When needing less cooling (close to target temperature) it draws less power. It is not loud or unpleasant, just a whirling hum. We had it inside the tent.

Perfect Fridge/Freezer for camping and overlanders or whatever your need might be. Cools fast, uses lower power, really can't go wrong with this unit! At first glance you might think I can't fit much in there But you definitely can, keep in mind you don't need any ice or ice packs so you get to utilize all the space for your stuff and you can fit a lot in this unit. I also purchased BougeRV's power station that fits in the side compartment, wow what an awesome set up!

GOOD product, better customer service. The product support is 2 years, SO I can say that you will be in good shape for at least that length Of time based on the great customer service.

The 23 quart version is just right for us. The overall size is not too much bigger than the usable volume, though it's heavy enough (25 lbs. or so) that you won't want to carry it for miles.
lt is quieter than I expected considering it has an on board compressor. If you need 12v refrigerator, this is the ticket!

Car Camping FAQs

Car camping refers to a type of camping where you drive to a campsite and set up a tent or sleeping arrangement near your vehicle. This allows for easy access to camping gear and supplies stored in your car.

No, any vehicle that has enough space to transport your camping gear can be used for car camping. However, larger vehicles like SUVs or vans can offer more space and may be more comfortable for sleeping inside if needed.

You should only camp in designated camping areas or where it's legally permitted. Many national parks, forests, and public lands have specific spots for car camping. Always check local regulations before setting up camp.

Car camping is generally safe, but you should always take precautions. Lock your vehicle when you're away from the campsite, store food securely to avoid attracting wildlife, and be aware of your surroundings and local wildlife. Additionally, always have a plan for emergencies.

You can find car camping sites by researching online, using camping apps, checking with local or national park services, or visiting campground directories. Reservations may be required, so plan ahead, especially during peak camping seasons.

A12V refrigerator is a portable cooling device that can be powered by your vehicle's12-volt electrical system (often through the cigarette lighter socket). It's ideal for car camping because it keeps food and beverages cold without the need for ice, as traditional coolers do.

The running time depends on your car battery capacity and the power efficiency of the refrigerator. Typically, a fully charged standard car battery could run a12V refrigerator for several hours to a few days without the engine running. However, to prevent draining your car battery, it's recommended to run the fridge while the engine is on or use a secondary portable battery.

Yes,BougeRV 12V refrigerators are built to be rugged and withstand the bumps and vibrations commonly experienced during car camping adventures.

Pre-cool your fridge before loading it with food and drinks, pack your items closely to reduce air circulation, limit the number of times you open the door, and try to park your vehicle in a shaded area to keep the refrigerator from working too hard.
